Don’t let the word “vegan” scare you! Even if you are a meat lover, I can say you’ll still love those vegan tacos. I have living proof!
Do you even know anyone who doesn’t love tacos? I don’t, and if there even is someone I bet it’s only like 2-3 people.
Anyways, did you know that the hard-shell tacos aren’t originally from Mexico but the US? But the Spanish word “taco” was invented by Mexicans.

As the main ingredient in tacos is meat, I bet you’re still wondering how to make vegan tacos so that they’d taste delicious?
Let me tell you, the secret is spices!
The recipe was born when I wanted to try out the new vegan minced meat. If you can find “Peas of Heaven” vegan minced meat in the store I definitely suggest you to try it. It’s made of pea protein and is super similar to meat.
You can also replace it with black beans, lentils, or meat.

Vegan Taco Recipe
Makes 8 tacos:
- 350g "Peas of Heaven" minced meat (or any kind)
- Red bell pepper
- 1/2 can of corn
- 2tbsp Crushed tomatoes (with basil)
- 1 Onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 1tsp Smoked paprika
- 1tsp Oregano

- For Serving:
- Hard-shell tacos
- Avocado
- Tomato
- Cheese (vegan)
- 1. Cut onion and garlic. Fry on the pan a few minutes.
- 2. Add minced "meat" and fry until golden.
- 3. Add spices.
- 4. Add cubed bell pepper and corn after few minutes.
- 5. Pour in crushed tomatoes.
- Add more spices if needed.
- 6. Add the mix into the taco, top with avocado and chopped tomato. And cheese if you want.
